I'd say winter is coming... but winter is HERE!
With these low, very low, temperatures the odds of getting a little frostbite - or worse - are higher than some have seen in their LIFETIME. It's a good idea to take a moment; by yourself, with a buddy, or with your entire team; and go over some basic FRIGID temperature guidelines. Looking over simple below zero rules my be the difference between life and death for someone...
It never hurts to get a little refreshment course when it comes to SAFETY!
1. WEAR LAYERS
Momma always says, you can always put on more clothes to stay warm... but you'll reach a point where you can't take off anymore to cool down!
2. CHECK WHERE YOU'RE WALKING
ICE. ICE. BABY. It's real. It's slippery. You will fall.
Make sure you have some non-slip work boots!
3. DON'T TAKE TOO DEEP OF BREATHS
You can do some serious damage to your lungs at below zero temperatures. Trust.
4. KEEP MOVING
Can't be frozen solid if you move around!
5. TRY AND WORK TOGETHER
The buddy system strikes again! Keep someone close, then there is always someone to help you up if you slip on ice!
Or someone to laugh at when they fall...
6. STAY NEXT TO A WARM FIREPLACE
DON'T GO OUTSIDE. EASIEST WAY TO AVOID THIS POLAR VORTEX!
HAPPY FEBRUARY!!!
